A blog isn't at all linear  because what drives the blogosphere is the
complicated network of connections behind it, the aggregators, the links
from one blog to the next, and the links to other commercial and
non-commercial sites.

In fact, most successful blogs are the most visible layer of an extremely
complex social network.
